Call it the burden of being Justice League, but these stories have fairly consistently been top-heavy, overly convoluted messes. Perhaps it is the burden of making every single story apocalyptic, but Justice League has been mostly a disappointment since Rebirth. This volume is no exception, complete with alternate timeline and the utter destruction of the universe impending.Still there were some beautiful scenes and the occasionally great artistic panels. It is better than some of this title, but hardly the best that DC has to offer right now. I don't think Hitch's run on Justice League after Rebirth was that strong, none of the stories were of a particular interest to me. This storyline, however, intrigued me. The children of the Justice League are decent enough to carry most of the story, but what really sold me on the story was the way Aquaman and Wonder Woman were utilized. I liked Aquaman's role in this story and felt he had a strong art in regard to Mera and his daughter "Serenity." I also liked how Wonder Woman and her relationship with Hunter played out. For me, this storyline was the best that the Justice League series had to offer after Rebirth.
