Pure and simple fact of the matter, in my opinion, is that she turned me off to the story, and also had me feeling sorry for Colin, who was such a perfect, gorgeous, wonderful example of male perfection. She was prudish, overly eager to exert her independence when she was such a failure at demonstrating any, especially in the parts of her life that ought to have exhibited more discipline, order, and accomplishment than she actually had. Hope didn't even possess the minimum of proper table manners (moaning uncontrollably in a restaurant or in public, wiping her fingers on herself after eating/taking a bite of her food rather than seeking a napkin are examples of poor self control and a lack of etiquette), and arguing that as a paying customer she should be allowed to eat however she liked doesn't even hold up as she didn't pay - Colin did, and he even cringed whenever he saw her faux pas.There was so much potential in the plotline, but I believe the way Hope was portrayed was too off-setting and detracted from Colin, who was so perfect and real. I think the writer was shooting for unaffected and unspoiled with Hope, but she came across as judgmental, crass, and undeserving. I disliked her immensely, to my chagrin. I wanted to like her, then she'd argue or say something ridiculous that contrasted with and contradicted what Colin needed from her. It was pathetic. One point two stars. *Contains spoilers*I would give it two or maybe three stars if it was the bad grammar alone, and I mean we are talking about subject verb agreement, missing words, wrong words, tense change ups, this was a nightmare grammatically speaking.Then to throw in some time stamp holes, like when he is awake in the morning but the next few paragraphs it is still night and he is about to go to bed... which is it?Then the final straw on the camels back was the fact that we have all seen Steele Magnolias we all know the risk and harm pregnancy causes for diabetics, but yet this isn't even an issue considering she is having twins? And to suggest that she must have taken really good care of herself to have such healthy babies even for prematurely born babies? It doesnt work that way, are you saying that women who give birth to premature babies that have health issues are because the mom didnt take care of themselves? *Insert eye roll here🙄🤦♀️ (and a face palm)Something that kept it at least a one star was that I liked the characters and the plot, but you get only a one star... hire an editor!
